CLEAN WATER FOR KIDS
Can Do Kids provides clean water for students in Kenya by assisting rural communities and their schools in funding large water tanks (cisterns) to collect, store and dispense large quantities of water.
A History of the Clean Water for Kids Project
In January 2013 a team from Can Do Kids International went to Africa and discovered the need for clean water. When the team returned, a local Can Do Kids Club was challenged to pray for God to provide for the children of a rural Kenyan school. Soon after the kids started to pray a six year old Can Do Kid expressed the desire to save her money to help kids who need clean water. Because her allowance and gift money would not be enough, her dad encouraged her to make bookmarks and sell them. Her efforts, with the help of many fellow students, earned enough to fund a $6,500 well at Gitaro Primary School in central Kenya. Ava is an example of "living out Biblical values" and has shown her peers what kids "CAN DO" through Christ at their young age.
