Kayley In Ukraine: August 2021 Update

Update: Though a little later then expected (COVID), they let me in - celebrate with me that I’m finally here in Ukraine! While it’s been a little strange staying home and waiting to see a lot of the people I know until I am quarantined and tested negative of COVID, it’s been a blessing getting to spend more time with my friends who are hosting me this year!

Yesterday, I got to hear an exciting story about how God has worked through Hanna English School and through Nastia, the head teacher. Feeling lead to minister in Ukraine, Hanna school gave Nastia that opportunity, as she and her husband would have had to leave the town (and possible even country) to find good work without it. Teaching for the past two years at the school, Nastia began to get to know the mother of one of her students. A few months ago, Nastia and the mother, Laura (*name changed) began to have deeper conversations that soon lead the Laura’s decision that she wanted to begin reading the bible. Now, for the past few months, Laura has been studying the Word for herself daily and meeting weekly with Nastia to read together and talk about it. We are all thankful to God for the discipleship made possible through the connections formed at the school!

Prayer requests:

  • for God to continue to use this school to connect people and open doors to discipleship

  • praise for the relationships that have been formed through the school so far; for continued community to be built among the staff, teachers and students
