MEET MANOAH

My name is Manoah Gichara Njuguna , I am  12 years old,  and I was born in the year 2010. I just joined 7th grade in the new Junior Secondary system. My family is composed of 7 children and both my parents are alive but are not well off financially to support all of us. My father depends on quarry work where the income is small and he is the breadwinner. My mother suffers from mental illness and cannot work.

My  family used to live in a very small muddy house where we shared one room with my parents and my siblings. Our mud house fell apart during a heavy storm landslide. Can Do Kids heard about the destruction of the house and they constructed a 3 room permanent house where we even got our own room separate from my parents. My siblings and I suffered from malnutrition and were starved due to lack of enough funds for provision. This led to me frequently being sent home for school fees/tuition in which my parents were unable to cater for and this has been a challenge to date. We were also able to access clean water because we used to go to the river to fetch water, until piped water was supplied to our home.

Through Can Do Kids we have a good modern house and since 2018 when we have been able to be supplied food occasionally through their office. It is my wish that God provides support to me, so that I can complete my education and become a better person to change society.
