Provide Clean Water
Many kids have to walk miles and miles during the school day just to fill up their cans with water. This takes away from their time spent learning in school. Without enough water to clean their hands and their school, jiggers dig into their skin and cause health issues. CDK provides tanks to tackle these challenges and enable kids to receive a better, more healthy education.
Sponsor Kids
We work with public school staff to help at-risk kids with school fees, supplies, medicine, or other necessities. These students become part of our “Can Do Kids family” and receive mentoring and follow up until they are finished with their education. A few of our “kids” are now Can Do Kids Kenya staff members!
Provide Safe Shelter
Every child deserves to have a home. A safe space to sleep, to study, to play, to grow, to pray, to live a life filled with love. Old age, terrible storms, and a lack of resources cause some kids to literally live in the dirt with rainwater dripping in through cracks and crevices. We partner with local village leaders to provide partial funding for families struggling to have a safe home of their own.
Empower Youth
We partner with existing community trade schools, providing funds for equipment so that basic skills can be properly taught. We facilitate trips for professionals to teach trades such as carpentry, salon skills, sewing, and welding.
Providing Food Relief
Everyone knows how much harder it is to work when you’re hungry. Food powers the brain! A full stomach is especially important during testing weeks, and when we often have additional fundraising events.
